Hi, I am Cassandra Groenewald. I am a Copywriter & Marketer specialising in online content for entrepreneurs and businesses. You can find me at cassandragroenewald.com
How did you get into this line of work?
Writing has always been a passion of mine. Working in marketing communications allows me to combine my organisational and analytical skills with creative thinking to produce quality content for my clients.
I hold a Communication Science cum laude degree and have a good knowledge of marketing and organisational communications, communication law, business management, advertising, PR, research, customer behaviour, and cognitive psychology. This means I understand all the aspects necessary to create great content and effective marketing strategies.
My knowledge and previous experience working at a creative agency dedicated to B2B marketing led to starting an online business specialising in copywriting and online marketing. Working remotely enables me to be more responsive and flexible to the needs of my clients.
How many years in the business?
I have nine years of communications and marketing experience.
What do you like most about your work? Why is this your passion?
I would have to say that what I like most is what I also find the most challenging - successfully translating a client’s ideas and objectives into clear marketing messages. Every client is unique and it takes research into a client’s business and the environment it operates in order to produce effective solutions.
Is there a recurring problem you see most often in with your female clients?
Generally, women are more cautious than men when making business decisions and may be more particular when assessing results. This is not really a problem unless it leads to indecision and impacts progress.
On the other hand, women in business today are shattering the proverbial glass ceiling in so many ways, and navigating new territory all the time. We see this in all areas from politics to entertainment; where upper level positions and top earners lists include more women than ever before. If anything, I see a drive to succeed in the women who I network with and work with, which is inspiring.
As you know, Mejorar Mi Vida is a training and Coaching website focused on confidence and business coaching for women. What 3 or 4 top advice can you offer our female audience regarding their branding/writing/content?
Know your audience – Narrow and define your target audience to help ensure your messages resonate with the people you intend to reach.
Focus your communications – Define your key messages and establish your brand throughout your content using a consistent tone and visual reinforcers.
Keep it simple – Your written communications should be clear and concise. Use bullet points to break up lists, and headings and layout to establish hierarchy of information.
Be generous with information – The more you share advice and provide information related to your services via blogs, downloads, tutorials, eBooks, etc; the more leads you are likely to generate whilst also validating your brand.
